Happily Married for 40-Plus Years
Harold and Dorothy Somer married in 1948, and these New Yorkers are still going strong. Just a few years ago, Harold ran the New York City Marathon with three generations of his family. Nevertheless, he says, "I always felt it wasn't really 'healthy' that we didn't argue fairly often, because arguing at least means dialogue, and we hadn't had that many dialogues." His wife agrees.
