Joey "Jaws" Chestnut, left, of the United States battled it out with Japan's Takeru Kobayashi at the 2006 Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. Chestnut ate 52 dogs in the 12-minute contest, but Kobayashi prevailed, setting a new world record of 53 3/4 hot dogs.
