A Killer Look at Real "Sopranos" Hotspots
Like many of the locations shown on "The Sopranos," the Cozzarelli funeral parlor in Belleville is an actual establishment in New Jersey. Satriale's, however, is just a vacant store in nearby Kearny, and was never a butcher shop. When set designers hung up the store sign, including the fiberglass pig that's shown in the opening credits, residents thought a real store was opening. On the show, Richie Aprile was ground into "mob burger" in the back room, but in real life, an actual crime occurred there. Someone stole Tony's pig. The new pig only shows its face when HBO is on location.
